Why is the "AutoText" option on the Insert menu grayed out?
I'm trying to set up my e-mail signature as an AutoText entry, and the online
instructions say to select the "AutoText" option on the Insert menu. When I click on the Insert menu, the "AutoText" option is grayed out, so I can't select it. How do I get it to be selectable? |

Hi ?B?Um9iaW4=?=,
I'm trying to set up my e-mail signature as an AutoText entry, and the online instructions say to select the "AutoText" option on the Insert menu. When I click on the Insert menu, the "AutoText" option is grayed out, so I can't select it. How do I get it to be selectable? Probably, the signature was formatted with a specific style when you created the AutoText entry, thus putting it in a "Category" the same as the style name. And now, when you want to insert it, your cursor is not in a paragraph formatted with that style. If you go over Insert/AutoText/AutoText so that you get the dialog box that lists all available AutoText entries, do you see it in the list? And can you insert it from this list? If yes, you should also be able to type the name of the AutoText entry, then press F3 to insert it.
