Default Tables running off page--best solution?

When you import a table from, say, Excel, and the table runs off the page
(into the right margin), you can change to landscape to give some more
breathing space, but even so it might not be enough. The next option is to
slowly pull everything left by reducing column size, etc. until you get that
far right column exposed and then you can adjust sizing of that column. But
this is such a painstaking process. Anyone have a better idea? Thanx!

Erik
