Default Customize Quick Access Toolbar

When adding commands to the Quick Access Toolbar, is it possible to
have text displayed on the button instead of one of the supplied icons?

No, but if you hover the mouse pointer over an icon, a text box will appear
with the name of the command that is invoked by clicking on the icon.
