Default Forms using Tables and form fields

I built a form using a table to define areas for test and graphics. In some
table cells I have used form fields to collect input and to control the
amount of data per field. When I protect the form I can complete the
document. If I close the document and reopen it, I cannot fill in the form
fields. I dont want my users to be able to alter the size of table fields
just complete and print.

I did this before and it worked so I don't understand what is happening now.

What happens when you try to fill out the form? Are you getting an error
message?
