How to get three columns per page.
I've been working with a text document in Word 2003. The document has three
columns which up until a couple of days ago displayed fine, 3 columns per page. The othe day I opend the document and all the material was displayed as a single, 2 inch wide column, down the left side of the page. How do I change it back to three collumns? It sounds like you got switched from Print Layout view to Normal view.
Click the View menu and choose Print Layout, or use the little icons in the bottom left corner of the window. All tree layouts, "Normal", "Web Layout" and "Print Layout", appear the
same, a single column down the left ssde of the page. The "Reading Laayout" view appears as two pages, each with a single column, each narrower than the page, down thje left side of the page. How to get three columns per page.
Then it sounds like the document has been damaged in some way. You're
now in troubleshooting mode: - First make a backup copy of the document, for safety in case Word crashes or loses data while you're experimenting. - Try changing the whole document to one column, and then back to three columns. - Try saving the document as an HTML file, then opening that and resaving it as a Word document. - Try copying everything in the document _except_ the final paragraph mark (easier if you turn on nonprinting characters by clicking the ¶ button) and pasting it into a new blank document, then setting that to three columns. [If the document has more than one section, do this step one section at a time and don't copy the section breaks.] On Fri, 5 Oct 2007 09:55:10 -0400, "Don J" wrote: All tree layouts, "Normal", "Web Layout" and "Print Layout", appear the same, a single column down the left ssde of the page.
