Default Why are some files blue in Word's "open" dialog box?

It seems as if, when we went from 2005 to 2006, many of the files in my
directories show up in blue font in the open dialog box of Word (and other MS
programs, too). Anyone know why? Thanks.

This indicates that they are compressed. Presumably you have Windows set to
automatically compress files of a certain age.
