Formatting question

I have a problem with formatting in a document. When I insert a bullet Word
inserts bullets EVERYWHERE! I then click on the undo button, the entire text
resets and the bullet i wanted is there inplace. Another funny thing is the
document is only 500K but growns to......20MB+. I've switched off all options
regarding autosave and preview etc.

Help? Please?
