Default How to fix elements on a page?

hi all,

I have paper printed for my company, you know with the logo on it and all.
How can I make a letter template in Word that all my co workers can use (fill
in the adres, subject etc.) but can not (unintentially) alter?

Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot!

If you anchor these elements to the Header (formatted with Square wrapping),
users will not unintentionally move or delete them; see
http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/Letterhead.htm for more.

Hi Suzanne,

Thanks for your answer, but this not solve my problem.

Let me try to be more clear. I know about the header. But stuff you put in
there is fixed. That's cool but not what I intended. All that needs to be
fixed on the page (logo, adress, etc.) is already printed on the paper.

What I meant was how do I fix a field where people can type the adres where
the letter has to go and the name of the recepient and the content? I want
the adres and name of the adresee to be in a fixed place.

So I need some text fields of which the content can be altered but not the
position.

Any suggestions? Thanks again.

But can you fix such a text box or frame? I guess you can still alter (move
or size) it, right?

The only way to stop users from moving a text box, frame, or wrapped table
would be to protect the document for forms, and that would likely not suit
your purposes. Are you just trying to prevent inadvertent tampering or
intentional?

Thanks Suzanne. I came across the protected form option. This is more or less
what I was looking for. Downside is that you will lose almost all Word
options (like bulleted list etc.).

It is for use within the company so it will be inadvertent tampering. I can
explain why people should not alter the tamplate. But hey people are people
and computers ... So I guess there will over time be some inadvertent
tampering.

If this is the case do you have other options?

What I do now is put every thing in a table which has the exact width and
height etc. It works. But it is easy to unintemtionaly alter things.

If you have any suggestions please let me know. If not, thanks a lot anyway.

I think a table with exact height and width (and making sure that Auto Fit
is turned off) should suffice in most cases.
