Automatic Outlining in Word 2007
I want to create an outline in Word 2007. I have found the icon to go to
numbered lists, and the icon there for what looks like a traditional Outline. I have reset the fonts to sensible things like Times New Roman. But it doesn't automatically number as I go. I want to be able to enter the first line as Level One, then if I hit Enter a new line should start also as Level One, unless I then Tab, in which case it should go to Level Two. How do I get it to do this? |

Automatic Outlining in Word 2007
For tips on using Outline view, see
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Format...singOLView.htm. Numbering the headings is a separate issue, unrelated to which view you use to look at it. See http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numb...Numbering.html for help with that. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
