Default Serif v Non serif font

Hi

What's the difference between a serif and non serif font?

Serif Specifies a serif font (e.g. Times New Roman).
Sans Serif Specifies a sans serif font (e.g. Arial).

Thanks in advance

Take a look at the two fonts. Serif fonts have little tags at the ends and
corners of letters. This makes it easier for the eye to read. In larger
(heading) text these tags are not as useful. Sans means without.

Sans serif fonts don't have serifs.
