Default Overstrike Characters

How can I compose a new character by have one character print onver another?
In WordPerfect there is an Overstrike feature.
In Church liturgies the are two symbols which represent the words Versicle
and Response. They are capital letters V and R with a forward slash typed
over them. Of course, in older printed books they are fancier than that, with
the forward slacy have some flair, but I would be happy to create a more
simple form using whatever typeface I'm working with.

Use an EQ field to layout the overstrike as you wish then save it as an
autotext or autocorrect entry for ease of re-use.
