As an attorney, I use redlining a lot. However, if I print a redlined
document, it appears as black blocks and the text within is unreadable. I
think it's because the bubbles are colored and perhaps I could see them on a
color printer---unfortunately, most law firms don't supply such printers.
There may be some highly technical way of fixing this, but if that's the
case, then Microsoft has failed in the user-friendly category. I suggest a
patch that makes the text within appear legible on black-white only printers
or help in figuring this out for myself. Thanks.

Make sure you don't have "Print colors as black on noncolor printers"
checked on the Compatibility tab of Tools | Options. These light shades
should not be printing as black, and if you're not using more than one
color, perhaps it would help to choose one of the lighter colors (yellow,
say, rather than red or blue).
