Default page returns & tabs

microsoft office 2005 - in normal view of word document i am able to view
page returns and tabs. how can i change this?

Hi Debbie,

I'm not sure this would work for you (I use Word 2003), but on the
Standard Tool bar there's a "Show/Hide" button that you can click to
either see the non-printing paragraph/tab symbols, or choose not to see
them.

The Show/Hide icon is symbol that looks just like the paragraph symbol.
