Mixed Multilevel Lists
In procedural writing (aka technical writing), I need to use multilevel or
nested ordered and unordered lists. For example, Step 1 might have an ordered (sequentally numbered) subroutine. Step 2 might have a list of choices (unordered or bullet list). 1. Click this. a. Do that. b. Select something. c. Click OK. 2. Choose one of the following: * Red * Green * Blue The problem is that Word automatically assumes that the first nested item in Step 2 should be numbered like in Step 1. That is, "a". When I select "Red, Green, and Blue" and select the Bullet list button, not only do the items under Step 2 change to bullet items but also the items under Step 1. I know that I have done this previously OK in Word, but I'm stumped! How do you apply different list qualities (ordered and unordered) to the same levels within a list, please? Thank you |

Mixed Multilevel Lists
You could create a new style with the same properties (except
Numbering) and a different name. On Oct 24, 4:43*pm, Brad wrote: In procedural writing (aka technical writing), I need to use multilevel or nested ordered and unordered lists.
