Document Recover Blocks Word Startup
Hi All,
Overnight an automatic update forced restart of my systems. I had a Word doc open at the time. Upon starting Word this morning, the program enters document recovery, but hangs. Its completely dead, can't cotinue with the recovery and have to exit the program. I assume that this is rogue file blocking startup. Any hints out there? Thanks very much in advance for tips. Cheers, P. |

Document Recover Blocks Word Startup
You have now found out why we don't recommend allowing automatic updates to
update without your permission and the wisdom of leaving open unsaved documents overnight. The chances of recovering the document from the autorecovery are slim to non-existent, so with Word and Outlook closed, romove it from the folder C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\Microsoft\Word (that location will be different for Windows Vista) Then see http://www.gmayor.com/what_to_do_when_word_crashes.htm before attempting to restart Word. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org pfflynn wrote: Hi All, Overnight an automatic update forced restart of my systems.
