Default Indent Markers

Every time I create a new file the indent markers on the horizontal ruler
move at 0.07 inch increments instead of the normal 0.125 inch incremements
(Well technically its 0.13 inches then 0.12 inches and so on). Basically it
went from moving with the dash marks on the ruler to only falling on them
every so often. I am unable to get the indent markers to return to their
normal increment movement. Is there a way to get their formatting back to
following the marks on the ruler?

Hello-

If I understand, what you refer to can simply be a matter of screen size,
resolution, and zoom. The indicators can't always be displayed as precisely
with some combinations as it can with others.

The most accurate way to adjust indents is through the FormatParagraph
dialog box, but if you prefer the convenience of using the Ruler, try holding
down the Alt key as you drag. That gives you a numerical reading on the Ruler
so you can easily & accurately adjust to 1/100" increments.

If the Drawing toolbar isn't already displayed, display it by clicking on
View | Toolbars | Drawing. On the Drawing toolbar, click on Draw | Grid |
Horizontal spacing: 0.125" | Vertical spacing: 0.125" | uncheck the "Use
margins" box | Default | Yes. The measurements will display as 0.13", but
that's okay. Try setting the tabs again.
