Word2007 is very slow switching between documents
When I have 2 documents open simultaneously, just clicking from one to the
other, there's a 5-10 second delay. This is driving me nuts and slowing me dow, a huge productivity waste for anyone who does document editing. Copy & paste have become a farce - I can type it faster! CPU is new, colleagues report the same delays. Rebooted, no change. Word2007 is also slow opening documents. Don't mind the new ribbons, etc, getting used to all the changes, it's the SLOWNESS I can't stand. I want my Word2003 back! :-( |

Assuming you have enough memory and an adequate CPU, this sounds like a problem with your antivirus program; you might find help in the following article if your antivirus program is Symantec/Norton: http://support.microsoft.com/Default.aspx?kbid=329820 Another frequent source of problems is add-ins; see the following re one add-in that has proved troublesome to some: http://www.gmayor.com/multiple_mail_merge_entries.htm -- "mapmom" wrote: When I have 2 documents open simultaneously, just clicking from one to the other, there's a 5-10 second delay. Word2007 is very slow switching between documents
Thanks, Aeneas! Since my post, I found another discussion group, with the
same problem: http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...1-be2a6bdcc832 The solution there was to uncheck the Acrobat PDFMaker Office Com Addin, which I did and my delays are over! I'm so psyched! mapmom "mapmom" wrote: When I have 2 documents open simultaneously, just clicking from one to the other, there's a 5-10 second delay. You're welcome. Glad you solved your problem. Another thing for future reference is to make sure (or have your IT guy do it) to keep your operating system and Office up to date; there have been some significant improvement in Vista's performance just in the last 2 months.
