Default Acess to data source

With Word 2000 when you opened a mail merge document, the data source file
(Excel) would open too and you could modify it and it would be available
immediately in the main document. With the Word 2003 you don't have acess to
the data source (Excel) when you open the main document. I'm I wrong?

Default

In Word 2002, the default method used to connect to Excel files changed from
DDE to OLEDB. You can still use the old method. Check Word
Tools|Options|General|"COnfirm conversion ar open", then reconnect to the
Excel sheet and select the DDE option when it is offered.
