Replacement Printer Causes Word 2003 Problems
This accompanies my Publisher post from yesterday and is similar to other
posts in this category, but not exactly the same. A vender sent me an exact same model to replace my previous printer under extended warranty. The driver, which is also the same, would not recognize the new printer. So, I had to uninstall and reinstall the driver according to the manufacturer's instructions. Unlike in Publisher, where I cannot print at all, I can print in Word; but in Word something is going on within the program that never went on before, as indicated by the hour glass, which never goes away. The program is more busy once opened. Last night, after installing the printer and driver, I left Word open, and it froze by morning. The Start button and program icons were gone. I could not even bring up Task Manager or close out of Word. I had to hit the Power button, which gave me the opportunity to Save the documents before shutting down. So far, I cleared the check mark away from Auto Recovery under Tools, Save. What else could be going on that this replacement printer may have caused? |

You may close this thread. My printer manufacturer helped fix the problem.
