Shortcuts for Word 2003 and Excel 2003 quit working. The error message is
"There was a problem sending the command to the program." Word or Excel come
up but the file is not loaded into Word or Excel.

I confirmed that the File Types are correct.

this is like when you double-click on a *.doc file?

have you installed any kind of file management or anti-virus software recently?
If you boot Windows in Safe Mode, do the shortcuts work as you'd expect?
