Default Where can I find a format style to guide in writing a book?

I am writing a book and wonder if and where there is a style format to guide
such writing. There are some expensive ones available in bookstores; however,
I need one that is free or at least relatively inexpensive.

What kind of book? Style guidelines for novels and poetry will be very
different from those for nonfiction. There are specific criteria for
academic writing, etc.
