Default Can't Insert Doc --

I'm working on some documents. I want to combine them. Each document
is 3-4 megs in size. Total size when comined will be about 9 meg.
Word 2000 won't let me. After I insert 2-3 documents, save, close,
and reopen, and try to insert document 4, i get a message saying "too
many edits in the document."

I've done this before, so I can't figure out why I'm having trouble
now. Any help welcome

I would suspect some corruption in doc 4. Try saving it as an RTF file,
closing it, reopening it and re-saving as a doc (under a new name). Then try
inserting it.

That was a good idea, but it didn't work. I resaved all the documents
as rtf, and they still won't insert into one doc. Same error "too
many edits--save your work."

Plan B?

Are there are section breaks in your documents? They can sometimes be a
location for corruption. If so, try copying & pasting a section at a time,
not including any section break in the copied text, and not including the
final paragraph mark of the document in the copied text.
