Default Problems Using Protected/Unprotected Forms

I am using Word 2002 (Windows XP Professional, Version 2002). I've created a
Form with form fields (form saved as a document, not a template), & Protected
it to Forms (options are Tracked Changes, Comments, or Forms). However, when
someone uses the form, does a Save As, unprotects the saved doc so that they
can make additional changes/additions to the form, & then goes to print it,
the system undoes all the filled in info (puts it back to looking like a
blank form with form fields) & prints it as if nothing was entered in the
fields. I have several forms that in some instances, would need additional
customization, which is why I have the users do a save as, unprotect, & then
make the changes. How do I keep the filled in info in the doc when I print
it? (this problem also occurs when using a custom template).
