Differences between Word Basic and Word SBE, both version 2003
I can open a word 2003 document that is a a form with check boxes
incorporated. It opens fine in word 2003 basic package. However, if I open the very same doc on a PC with Word 2003 SBE small business edition , the check boxes change into the number "9". Also, the Professional Ed of Word 2003 will also open the doc correctly. Now, I would think, word 2003 is the same no matter how it's packaged. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Dave |

Different computers or operating systems?
The checkbox you are talking about is probably a symbol. If the font is not available on the machine opening your document then you will get something different. AFAIK Word 2003 is the same regardless of which package you get it in. There are a number of ways to create and use clickable checkboxes in documents / templates. Some require protected or locked forms, others do not. Same OS XP, same service packs. All PC's that have the Basic Office and
Professional Editions installed can see the form correctly. However, any PC with Small Business Edition installed has a probem of the check boxes on the form changed to the number 9. Strange, very odd to me at best...... Thank you for your help! "Charles Kenyon" wrote: Different computers or operating systems? The checkbox you are talking about is probably a symbol.
