Default Deleting multiple Word Index Entries

Other than highlighting and deleting individual Index Entries "XE" one
by one--is there any way to delete all or many of them, either by using
Find or another way?

Yes, the Replace dialog can do this.

First, make sure you can see the XE entries (they're formatted as
Hidden text, so click the ¶ button so you can see them).

In the Replace dialog, enter the code

^d XE

(The space between the d and the X is intentional.) Leave the Replace
With box empty, and click the Replace All button.

Display the XE fields. To remove all XE fields, search for

^19 XE

and replace with nothing.

If you want to search for specific fields, then add the specific text
following the XE in the search term.
