Default In Word, the cursor occasionally jumps to other lines. Help?

.... Or if not a laptop, do you perhaps have an optical mouse (one that emits
a light beam from its 'belly')? If so make sure you are using it on a
smooth, solid-color surface. Otherwise the reflected beam is misdirected by
teh sightest irregularity & causes the pointer to behave erratically.

Suzanne - wow i think you may have something there. I'm new to laptops and i
suppose i could be grazing it occassionally, especially since i can't get the
jumping to happen intentionally - good call, thanks

Bob - Thanks for the suggestion - I do have an optical but its on a good
surface. I'll first see if the touchpad is the culprit.
