Default Display a rectangle ON MY PAGE in Word 2000, representing margins

I want to know visually where my margins are on the page, by displaying them
via a reference rectangle ON THE PAGE. I don't see such a feature built in.
Suggestions? Thanks. Rick.

Sorry, not the answer. Let me be more descriptive. My commerical printer
service has a no-print land of 1/4" around the 8.5 x 11 page. Therefore, I
wish to set Word's margins at .25", and then have Word automatically inscribe
a rectangle that is 1/4" in from each each of the sheet. I can manually draw
a guide rectangle that is 8" by 10.5", then use the Align commands to center
it up. I was just hoping there was a quicker easier way. Thanks. Rick

If text boundaries don't do what you want, then you're not really talking
about "margins" but just the unprintable area. If you draw your rectangle
while you have the header open, it will be anchored to the header paragraph
and repeat on every page. You can even save it as an AutoText entry.

How about Format Borders & Shading Page Border Options, set all
four margins to 0.25" and choose "from edge of page", and set the
border style to Box.

Depending on the printer driver you're using, the bottom of the border
may not print. See
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Format...sDontPrint.htm for
explanation.

To clarify Jay's suggestion, if you want your margins to be larger than
0.25" (as it appears) but you want a page border 0.25" from the edge of the
page, choose the "From edge of page" setting and a measurement of 18 pts.
