Default Word Docs trying to open in Picture Mgr

How do I get docs to open in their correct program, not in picture manager?
This is happening when I go through start, documents,... and when I try to
view an attachment on an email I sent. Is this the result of a security
download?

First see how to re-register Word when problems crop up opening files
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ReRegisterWord.htm and if that doesn't
fix it select a document in Windows Explorer, right click and choose Open
with... from the ensuing dialog select Word (winword.exe) abd check the box
to always open with this application.
