Default Drag-able Guides in MS Word ???

Are there "guides" I can drag onto the screen in Word for aligning text or
graphics?

No, Will, but you can use the Drawing toolbar.

Not as such, but you can display gridlines on the screen. From the Drawing
toolbar, choose Draw | Grid: "Show gridlines on screen."
