Why do I find "shadow" iicons of documents I have opened and clos.
When I open a document, a second icon is created of that document. After I
close the document the icon remains and has to be deleted. When I clike on the icon it opens to a Word document with only my name and some symbols. |

This is the "owner" file (see €śDescription of how Word creates temporary
files€ť at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=211632). It should be deleted when you close the document. If it is not, it is okay to delete it manually, but if this happens routinely, you may want to find out the cause. One reason for temp files not being deleted is something to do with SMB packet signing in Windows 2000 Server. -- Suzanne S.
