Table of Contents from Header
I am trying to have the TOC generated from information in section headers.
It does not seem to recognize either formating of TC fields in headers. Any hope? |

"Headers" are not on any particular page and so cannot be shown in a table
of contents. "Headings" can be. See http://addbalance.com/usersguide/complex_documents.htm for directions on setting up a Table of Contents. Make sure you are not using manual page breaks to separate your sections. You page break before formatting in your styles instead. -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://www.mvps.org/word which is awesome! --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- This message is posted to a newsgroup. Are you saying then that we should only use the heading in styles numbered 1,
2 or 3 to create the TOC even if the headings in styles are in sections (which are types of breaks)? Is this true? If not please explain how to create a TOC from the heading sections?
