Properly oriented pages when printing a 2sided trifold brochure
I've created a nice looking two-sided tri-fold brochure, but when I print it
in duplex mode on my printer, one side of the page prints "upside down." That is, when the print is right side up on one side, it's reversed on the other. How do I fix this? |

Answer: Properly oriented pages when printing a 2sided trifold brochure
Hi there! It sounds like you need to adjust the page orientation settings in your document before printing. Here's how you can do that:
Now when you print your brochure in duplex mode, both sides should be properly oriented. If you're still having trouble, you may need to adjust your printer settings to ensure that it's set up for duplex printing correctly.

Check your printer settings.

You'll need to check the duplex settings in your printer Properties. There's
usually a choice of whether to "flip" on the long or short edge. In this case, you need to flip on the short edge. -- Suzanne S. Thanks, Suzanne. What finally worked was going to the "Page Setup" tab in
the "Canon MP610 series Printing Preferences" window, then choosing "Long-side stapling (Left) below the checked duplex printing box. So Canon would seem to have moved from the original idea of "fliping on the long edge" to "Stapling on the long edge." Office almost always provides a way, but it's not always obvious to the user who only gets to some of the features occasionally. I never found it in the knowledge base or in "Help." Stop the presses! Make the correct staple side for duplex trifold brochures

Unfortunately printer settings are going to be different. I use HP printers
at home and at work we use Toshiba printers. The settings dialog boxes different from each other. You just need to "root around" in there - or contact the printer manufacturer for help. Some even have forums similar to this where you can ask for assistance. (The info you needed wouldn't be in any Word book. It might be found in your printer manual tho.) -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] Tech Editor for "Microsoft Publisher 2007 For Dummies" "clc2" wrote in message ... Which, either way, is not _entirely_ helpful if you're not producing
something requiring stapling! HP doesn't word it like that. On Jul 24, 10:57 pm, clc2 wrote: Stop the presses! As others have pointed out, none of this terminology is part of Word. The
printer Properties are produced by the printer driver (being able to access them from Word's Print dialog is just a convenience), and each printer manufacturer will have different terminology, as you've discovered. -- Suzanne S. One of the ones I use calls it "Book" or "Tablet".

I think I've seen that, too--maybe in my HP DeskJet?
