Default Merging Access into Word - characters changed

Word version: 2000
Access Version: 2000

We produce a monthly report in Word, using data from an Access dbase, usually
with no problems. Since last month we have changed Pounds to Euros in the
dbase, but Word continues to insert £ instead of ‚¬. We can find no trace of £
anywhere in the dbase or in the Word macros we use for formatting Any idea
what's happening and how to stop it?

If we can assume that it is only the sign that is wrong, use a switch on the
merge field - http://www.gmayor.com/formatting_word_fields.htm
My guess is that you already have a £ sign in an existing switch.
