Default Automatic underlines

I am get underlines under everything I type, in Word and Outlook. I am sure
it is something to do with Options, but I can't seem to get rid of it. Help.

Carol's answer may be correct, but it's also possible you've got Track
Changes turned on. If so, turn it off and see if that allows you to type
without underlines (if it does, you'll need to accept all the changes). If
not, go to Format | Font, and if an underline is selected there, deselect
it, click Default..., and answer yes.
