Default Reduce space between lines while using large font

I am trying to make my wedding invitations. I found an invitation online in
which they printed the initials or full name on a piece of vellum in large
font (English111 Vivace BT). The font was large enough so that the loop on
some of the letters were printed off the page.

My thought is that I would have to print it large enough so that the vellum
could be cut down to 6" x 6" squares, and the loops on some of the letters be
off the page. However, what I am having trouble with is the spacing between
the lines. As I increase the font, the spacing gets larger. The spacing on
the example I found are quite smaller and kinda "bunched up" for a lack of
better words.

Can someone please help me? I am working in Word 2000 Professional. I can
also send a link to the website with the example, if needed for reference.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

You can change the line spacing to a fixed size via Format Paragraph
Indents and Spacing tab - below "Line spacing", select "Exactly" and
type/select the desired value in the rightmost field. You may have to
experiment a little to find the appropriate value.

When I do that some of the letters that hang down are getting cut off. And
when I increase the line spacing to just fit the whole letter, the sapce
between the lines is too large again.

Have you tried printing the document? The result may be OK on print even if
the letters are cut off on the screen.

I think I may have figured it out. I used text boxes to move the words
around so they would be close together.

Thanks for all your help. I should have checked here first before spending
all morning trying to figure it out on my own.
