Default MSN email/hotmail not linking to dictionary in office

Hi, I have Verizon DSL and am using MSN premium as well as MSN hotmail.
When I try to do a spellcheck I get this message

You currently do not have a dictionary installed for the selected language.
Why this happened
You need to install a spellchecker available with installations of Microsoft
Office and Microsoft Works in order to use the spell checking feature.

I'm told by MSN & Verizon that Windows Vista is not set to work with MSN.
There's not place to select Word as the editor.

I hate sending emails out that I can't spellcheck. I have to keep dumping
the body into word, spellcheck and dump back into my email. MSN only has
information on how to setup Outlook/Express. Which I can't imagine would be
that different than Windows Live.

Please Help
