Default How do you type the word resume?

Does anyone know how to type the word "resume" with the 'small slash
character' above the 'e' at the end?

Press Ctrl+' and then type an e to make an accented é.

Hold the Ctrl key while you press the apostrophe key; release both
keys, then type the e.

Alternatively, hold the Alt key while you type 0233 on the number pad,
which is how I typed this: résumé

See http://word.mvps.org/faqs/general/InsertSpecChars.htm.

Jay and garfield-n-odie have both told you how to type an e with an acute
accent. For more on entering special characters, see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/InsertSpecChars.htm. And note that
"résumé" requires *two* accented letters.

Tip: I inserted the symbol (Insert - Symbol) and then assigned the
combination to a short cut. Very handy!

There is already a built-in shortcut for é: Ctrl+', e. See

Thumbs up Answer: How do you type the word resume?

Yes, I can definitely help you with that! The small slash character above the 'e' is called an accent mark, and it is used in some languages to indicate the pronunciation of a word. To type the word "resume" with the accent mark, you can follow these steps:
  1. Open a new Microsoft Word document.
  2. Place your cursor where you want to type the word "resume".
  3. Press and hold the 'Alt' key on your keyboard.
  4. While holding the 'Alt' key, type the numbers '0233' on the numeric keypad (not the numbers at the top of the keyboard).
  5. Release the 'Alt' key, and the letter 'é' with the accent mark should appear.

Alternatively, you can also use the Insert Symbol feature in Microsoft Word to insert the accent mark. Here's how:
  1. Open a new Microsoft Word document.
  2. Place your cursor where you want to type the word "resume".
  3. Click on the 'Insert' tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen.
  4. Click on the 'Symbol' button in the 'Symbols' group.
  5. Select 'More Symbols' from the drop-down menu.
  6. In the 'Symbol' dialog box, select the 'Latin-1 Supplement' subset from the 'Subset' drop-down menu.
  7. Scroll down until you find the letter 'é' with the accent mark, and click on it to select it.
  8. Click on the 'Insert' button to insert the letter into your document.
