Default How do I get Word to return to same folder when inserting?

I insert photos from the same folder into a report. Each time I use key
command to insert a new photo it goes to the office 12 folder instead of the
folder with the photos. It will not remember the last folder accessed.

If you have a path specified for "Clip art pictures" in Office Button | Word
Options | Advanced | File Locations (button way down at the bottom), then
Word will default to this. If you don't have a path specified, it will
default to the last-used folder. The problem is that, if a path is
specified, you can't just delete that without specifying anything else; you
have to actually edit the Registry to delete the relevant key.

What I usually do when I'm using a specific folder frequently is add it to
the Places Bar temporarily. This is still possible if you're using Word 2007
under Windows XP. Under Vista, you have the Favorites bar instead; if you
have figured out how to add folders to that, you could use the same
technique.

Default

I have similar, yet slightly different issues. I'm trying to insert graphics, insert hyperlinks, and open documents. In each case, the "search" returns to the default folder, not the most recently used folder. I'm guessing there should be a setting to allow the most recently used folder to appear for access.

Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
