Default Word, Excel, Access Beta 2007

Maybe I just haven't come across it yet, but I cannot find any info on how to
omit display of a group. For example, in Word, the Styles group under the
Home tab: Under the current Word, it is a significant advantage to have the
ability to define an uncluttered toolbar with only the tools commonly needed
for most taxks. The eye does not have search for buttons everytime.
While Word 2007 is MUCH better than the old Word, it still needs the ability
for a user-defined minimalist toolbar area.
Maybe I have missed it or maybe there is another way of omission I am not
familiar with .... but, is this ability in Word 2007?

No, the ability is most definitely not in Word 2007 or the other 2007 apps,
unless you wish to learn about RibbonX programming.

For some explanation from the Microsoft design people about why it isn't,
read Jensen Harris's blog entries at
http://blogs.msdn.com/jensenh/archiv...02/542118.aspx and
http://blogs.msdn.com/jensenh/archiv...27/648269.aspx.

Many of the "old hands" don't agree, but we've been outvoted.

For information on RibbonX, see
http://blogs.msdn.com/jensenh/archiv...ory/11280.aspx and
http://pschmid.net/blog/category/ribbonx/.
