Default can't change the page set up default

It is located in a folder that is probaby hidden. The usual location is
c:\documents and settings\[User Name]\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates.
You can check for the location in Word by selecting Options from the Tools
menu and then selecting the File Locations tab. To see hidden folders in
Windows Explorer, select Folder options from the Tools menu in that
application.

Thanks Doug, I know I'm going to sound simple - but where do I find this
template? I did a search and came up with nothing. Thanks for your
advice.

Open the normal.dot template, and make the change there and then save and
close it.

Every time I open a new Word document the default is set to 'letter'
size.
I
have reset the default to A4 several times, but each time I start new
document, the default has changed back.
