Putting a pdf file into a word document
Hi all.
Word 2000 (XP home). Is there an easy way to bring in a pdf file to a Word document (or convert one) so that all the text formatting is preserved? TIA |

Putting a pdf file into a word document
Hi aalaan
You can use a PDF to Word converter (try http://www.google.com.au/search?sour...t+pdf+to+word). Or, you can just copy the text from (eg) Adobe Reader and then paste into a Word document. In either case, what you get depends on how the original PDF file was created in the first place and will probably need cleaning up. Hope this helps. Shauna Kelly. Another way: Insert Object Create From File, check the Display as Icon
box, then browse to the location of your PDF file and select it. This will insert the PDF as an attachment to your doc, and show an icon which, when clicked, will open the attachment in a PDF reader window (assuming the target system has a reader installed). -- Ted |

Thanks.
Can you recommend one particular converter that is free of charge and has no bugs/viruses? "Shauna Kelly" wrote in message ... Sorry, aalaan, I can't give you a recommendation. I played with a couple a
few years ago on a test machine, decided that copying and pasting was probably just as effective for what I needed, and gave up. You might try http://www.download.com/. I've generally found the editor's reviews there to be useful in sorting out the wheat from the chaff. Shauna Shauna Kelly. Microsoft MVP. http://www.shaunakelly.com/word "aalaan" wrote in message ... You don't need a 'converter' to insert a PDF file as an object (bearing in
mind that objects cannot span pages). You need Acrobat Reader version 7. If you want to *edit* the PDF document, you need OCR software and the type that does a decent job will not be free - Finereader 8 would be my choice. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Shauna Kelly wrote: Sorry, aalaan, I can't give you a recommendation.
