Default Protecting sections of a ms word doc

I am trying to make a document in word format. THe document has questions
that I would like to protect from being altered, but i want to be able to
type the responses under each question. The trick is, I want to be able to
spell check the answers. Currently I have the entire document
locked/protected and use fields. This allows the typist to enter the
repsonses, but you have to cut and paste the answers into a seperate document
and do a spell check.
To restate my question. how can I protect single lines (the questions) in a
Word document and still be able to allow spellcheck to check the answers
portion? Thanks in advance.

In any version of Word, you can place a macro in the template for the
protected document to run the spelling checker -- see
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Macros...ProtectDoc.htm.

If you have Word 2003, you can use a different setup. Instead of form
fields and forms protection, you can turn on protection against
changes throughout the document, and then mark the entry areas as
exceptions. If this form will be sent to other users, they'll also
need to have Word 2003, otherwise the whole document will be locked.
