Default Page Background Color

I colored my page's background, but it will not show up on the print preview
nor will it print. How come and what did I do wrong?

In Word 2003 (and XP, I think), go to Tools Options Print and check
"Background colors and images". The option wasn't available in versions
before that; background colors were applicable only to web pages.

In Word 2007, go to Office button Word Options Display and check "Print
background colors and images".
