Trouble with headers/footer showing from template add-in?
I created a template in Word 2000 with headers and footers. Went to an
established document to load the template via Tools; Template and Add-ins. I added the .dot file and attached it. The styles came accross but the header & footer did not. Any explanation? This should work. |

Attaching a template never has any affect on page layout, including headers
and footers. To get the page layout from the template you have to create a new document, then paste the content of your old one into it. (But see http://www.word.mvps.org/faqs/format...ectionInfo.htm.) Attaching a template only updates styles if you check that option in the Templates and Add-ins dialog. If you've done that, I suggest you don't leave it checked as this can cause unexpected style updating, especially on other machines. -- Margaret Aldis - Microsoft Word MVP Syntagma partnership site: http://www.syntagma.co.uk Word MVP FAQ site: http://www.word.mvps.org "Meramac" wrote in message ...
