Default printing white font.

This may be a rookie question, but I'm trying to print a white font on dar
paper. I select the text and change the font to white. After hitting print
nothing shows up. Is there some setting that allows printing on colored
papare in white font?

Hi Dave,

Does your printer have white ink?

Cheers

before I got your reply, I searched for other like questions and read the
other posts. It is surprising that a modern printer doesn't have white ink.
I assume your question was rhetorical. Or is there some hope that my new HP
has white ink?

Hi Dave,

Yes.

Neither Word nor your printer is designed to print white, as such. To get
white text/objects on a coloured background, you need to use white paper,
and colour the background within your document. Apart from the fact this
will tend to use a lot of ink/toner, you'll still end up with a white border
around the page edges. That's because few printers can actually print all
the way to the edge of the paper.

Why is it surprising? White ink is very uncommon even in the commercial
printing world since the majority of printing is done on white paper.
