How do i open a file saved on a cd in an older version of Word?

Hi PB-
I assume you mean that the saved file was created by an earlier version of Word. It should not be any different than opening any other doc... navigate to the CD Drive through your Open File dialog box & open the file. You probably _will not_ be able to save any changes to it, though. Any revisions will have to be saved as a new file on your hard drive or other re-writable media. If the file was created by a _newer_ version of Word & you are trying to open it with an older version, please post back with specific details. First copy the file to your HD (do *not* try to open it from the CD). You'll
need to right-click on it in Explorer, select Properties, and clear the Read Only property (which is always set for files on a CD). Then you should be able to open it in Word. -- Suzanne S.
