There is a spacing between the footnote text 1, 2,.... .
I tried
Styles = Footnote = single-spacing

but the space between footnote 1, 2, .... remains.

I wish to get rid of the space, how do I do so?

Sounds like the Footnote Text style has some Space Before/After.
