Thumbs up Answer: template for 1099 Misc

Yes, Microsoft Word offers a template for 1099-MISC forms that you can use to type on screen and print onto IRS preprinted forms. Here are the steps to access and use the template:
  1. Open Microsoft Word and click on "File" in the top left corner.
  2. Click on "New" to open the "New Document" window.
  3. In the search bar, type "1099-MISC" and hit enter.
  4. Select the template that best fits your needs and click on "Create" to open it.
  5. Fill in the required information in the template, such as the payer's name, address, and tax identification number, as well as the recipient's name, address, and payment information.
  6. Once you have filled in all the necessary information, save the document.
  7. Load the IRS preprinted 1099-MISC forms into your printer.
  8. Go to "File" and click on "Print."
  9. In the "Printer" section, select the printer you want to use.
  10. In the "Settings" section, select the correct paper size and orientation for the preprinted forms.
  11. Click on "Print" to print the completed forms onto the preprinted forms.

That's it! You should now have your completed 1099-MISC forms printed onto the IRS preprinted forms without having to handwrite them.

I suggest that you read these instructions:
http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1099.pdf
You must request Official forms:
The IRS site states:
Copy A appears in red, similar to the official IRS form,
but is for informational purposes only. A penalty of $50 per
information return may be imposed for filing copies of forms
that cannot be scanned.
You may order these forms online at Forms and Publications
By U.S. Mail (http://www.irs.gov/formspubs) or by calling
1-800-TAX FORM (1-800-829-3676).
See IRS Publications 1141, 1167, 1179, and other IRS
resources for information about printing these tax forms.

Robin, I am in need of the same template. I know you can buy software
for about $40.00 at Office Depot. Let me know if you find anything.

For 1096 forms and 1099-misc forms I've used a template from http://lucregate.com/irs-1099-misc-form-print-template/

You don't need to purchase anything. You can use adobe's print "form fields only" by completing the online pdf form, but printing it on the official IRS form.
Step 1: Download the form from the IRS website (https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1099msc.pdf)
Step 2: Place the scannable form you received from the IRS in the printer tray.
Step 3: Complete the pdf form.
Step 4:On the print screen, select (i) "print current page" and (ii) "form fields only." See https://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/h...orm-field-data for details.

Hope this helps!
