why does the unique info you use in mailmerge have to be stored
In Word, that's just the way it is. It would have to be stored
/somewhere/ at some point (even if it's in volatile system memory) but Word needs to get it either a. from a file in a file system, such as a word document, text file, excel workbook, access database b. via a text converter (which would normally get the data from a file, but you could conceivably write one which did not) c. via a ODBC driver or OLE DB provider, which typically get their data from files, or servers that store their data in files, but again, you could conceivably write a driver/provider that got its data from somewhere else. Where do you want Word to get its mailmerge data from? Peter Jamieson http://tips.pjmsn.me.uk Tyonne wrote: |
