Default Word 2003 footnote continuing on next page

WindowsXP SP-2, Office 2003 SP-2

I have one footnote that continues over two pages, i have tried the
paragraph keep lines together, window/orphan options.

i have tried making exact line spacing.

nothing works for this one foot note.

but when i open it in Openoffice(sorry had to try it), there is no
problem, the entire footnote says on the page.

but i would like to keep the document in Word.

any ideas??

tia.

Thank you.

I tired that and it still does not work. and now it happened to another
footnote.

i keep changing the settings but nothing is affected.

is there any way to regulate the space a footnote takes?

thanks though.

Are you sure you have checked "Keep lines together" and *not* "Keep with
next"?

checked, double check and triple checked. and now it is doing it to
other footnotes, yet when i import it in openoffice, the paragraphs
re-arrange and fit the entire footnote on one page.

in word, it even breaks in mid-sentence.

this is driving me nuts as it is my graduate thesis.

I even tried it in office 12 beta, exactly the same problems

at least it works in openoffice. i am going to have to evaluate the
switch.
